And oh man, what a four years it's been.
Freshman year, I remember I was really shy, had a small range of musical taste, and was having huge issues with my mare. I only had friends from middle school and in some clases, I didn't have any friends at all, which sucked so much. But, I'm glad I went through freshman year, because it really does build you up some emotional strength.
Sophomore year, I just broke through through the shy barrier and I'd like to thank horses, because I was now using natural horsemanship methods with my mare, which teaches patience, trust, confidence, etc., and ska...because it's damn good upbeat, fuck-off, 'life is short, so listen to ska' type music.B
Junior year...not much different from senior year. I was a better balanced person and knew a bit more of who I wanted to be. I started looking at colleges and questioning growing up in modern American society. I learned that I have a love for classic English literature and sometimes, public speaking.
Senior year. What to say? It's like junior year but with more 'shazam'. I'm a totally different person than freshman year. More out there, both in confidence, music, and beliefs. I'm not loud but I'm sociable, I listen to all times of music, even sometimes the music I hate, and I question everything now: humanity, morals, time, the universe, and even reality. I finalized my college choice on Appalachian State University (jokingly referred to as UNC Boone, because it's part of the state universities...and it's in Boone) I haven't been but I think I'm gonna love it. I joined the Outdoors Club and saw so many flawless things of nature. The endless view of autumn trees ontop of a mountain, well-worned paths of upwards travel, a red full moon over the dark ocean, a flat plain of blue tidepools, and the sunset over a city of dunes, falling under a comet storm.
Whoah.
But, the point I was trying to make with all this, before I got carried away (for shame) was that this second semester of my last year in high school sure has gotten some weird, weird, weird quotes that I'd love to share.
"I said I'd get revenge but I never did."
"Don't worry. We'll hurt him later."
-manical laughter-
"I know that she wanted it, because if I were her, I'd want it too."
"If I were gay, I would find him attractive. But I'm not. So I don't."
"I hate all of the female race!"
"...It's not really a race."
"If the life expectancy increases, so will the population, which is why this is an ethical issue."
"And that's why we have war."
"You're just saying that because your German."
"I just backhanded his balls."
(After watching Jaws)
"So after that one boy died, I felt REALLY hungry."
"Sarah, you're related to Satan."
"Wanna see the universe? Take drugs."
"I got into college!"
"How did THAT happen!?"
"Guys, I had an amazing, life-changing moment, and I had all my clothes on!"
"Dumbledore's gay?"
"Yes."
"...You just RUINED my life."
"Did you see Paul McCartney on the Grammys last night?!"
"Yeah."
"I started crying and laughing and jumping up and down."
"I saw that too. I was actually right outside your window."
".............."
"That's just love, Sarah."
"I know when you guys woke up this morning, you weren't planning to see a diagram of Damsel fly penises, but you are. So deal."
"And he was like, yeah, dogs evloved into whales. And then his girlfriend said, oh, I heard about that."
"If all the squirrels died out, who would be climbing trees?"
"....Sarah."
"We should put on some funky new age music and dance like we have flagella."
"Yo Yo Ma."
"No, YO MA!"
"I don't have strong arms."
"Yes, you do. You ride horses."
"It's really more in the thighs, torso, and lower legs though..."
"Don't you have to pick May up and put tuck her into bed, though?"
"It's very rewarding to imagine her in the ocean. On fire."
"SOMEBODY needs Jesus."
"There is a nut in your bagel."
"BOB BARKER WILL NEVER DIE!"
"She's just all, okay, now play it. Play it fast. Now in your left hand. Now with your teeth. Now on fire."
"Oh, bay-bee, BAY-BEE!"
"I feel like Peter Pan."
"You mean Robin Hood?"
"Yeah, him."
"Jazz makes me all like....blahhh." -collapses-
"So you get jazz-induced comas?"
"I like coffee. Well, not really, but I like caffeine."
"Make up your MIND."
"Gill Grissom left CSI."
"WHAT?! GAH, you're ruining my life AGAIN!"
"My mom told me, 'Listen, if Sarah asks you to do something, you don't have to do it. If she gets into pot and offers you some, you can say no!'.."
"Well, I like my twinkies, and I hate to run. I'm too pretty to sweat."
"Look, the grass is waving at us!" -sways-
-turns on Chatham County Line-
"Oh my god, this is sex to the ears."
"They just thinkin', they can't shag us."
"...."
"SHAKE! I mean SHAKE!"
-playing card hits my eye- "OH SHIT!"
"Ms. Ewald, you said a NASTY."
(ten minutes later, when one of the teachers didn't have any good cards.)
"SHIT!"
"Alright...whatever happens on Bear Island, STAYS on Bear Island."
"Vagina."
"Heehee."
"...There's one in EVERY class. Congrats, Sarah, you're the most immature senior in the class of 2009"
(And just yesterday, as we were working on making an AP Biology t-shirt, with a list of 'You know you took AP Bio when...'
"Alright...what about when 'you hear the words 'sperm', you don't laugh?'"
"Heehee!"
"Except if you're Sarah."

And!! I am sooo jealous! I wish I was good at Parelli as you were!
And where are you located in NC? I live there too!
--
I say NO to Horse Slaughter!
Keep horses in a gait....not on your plate
Aww, thanks. That comment really means a lot to me -- I've been striving to be the best Parelli student I can, and I'm at the level where I know I'm pretty good, could be better, and I'm going there if I work hard
And I live in Apex but I keep my horses in Graham ^_^
